Attend the second Symposium on Anti-Racist Community Engagement, virtually! (in-person spaces are filled).
The event features 1) presentations by some of the authors of our book, Anti-racist Community Engagement: Principles and Practices (which will be published by Stylus in early fall), 2) opportunities to discuss the just-developed Framework for Civic Learning Through a Lens of Racial Equity (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1w7eTVN8S8Uy7j22lSSSloy3ZJAurnStoUFz…), and 3) a keynote talk by Tara Yosso, author of the 2005 article that put on the map the idea that students of color bring with them a range of different forms of community cultural wealth that their white faculty and staff may not recognize or understand—and that should be recognized, honored, and built upon.
