Join La Causa for our 24th Annual slam-poetry event, VOICES for the Voiceless! This year, we welcome poets Carlos Flores Quispe, Dimitri Reyes, Jesús Papoleto Meléndez, Luther Hughes, Mercy Tullis-Bukhari and Monica Ong, as well as an opening by Kiiren Aamer '24 and live music by Cuban jazz group Mesa Verde.

RSVP for the VOICES dinner on Friday, April 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Newport, before the event, to get to know the poets!

VOICES was founded by La Causa in 1997 and has since expanded to be a major collaboration between many of Amherst's affinity groups, resource centers and academic departments. The festival, formally known as "Voices for the Voiceless," aims to give space to those who have historically been silenced in academia and decolonize poetry and the arts.

This event was in collaboration with the African & Caribbean Student Union, Asian Student Association, Black Student Union and Native & Indigenous Student Association.
