Weather concerns? Check My Amherst on the day of the event for delay or closure announcements.
If you’d like to hear a wide variety of poets bravely sharing their work, be sure to tune in to our Festival open mic night! Following the open mic, participants will be treated to a poetry reading by festival headliner Franny Choi. Reader spots are full, but the audience is still open!
Follow the link for more info and registration!
Come join us in listening to our own Amherst students performing from the Valentine Balcony. Some chairs will be provided, but we recommend you bring a sweatshirt as fall draws near!
The Tell It Slant Poetry Festival (formerly the Amherst Poetry Festival) is a free event that celebrates the poetic legacy of Emily Dickinson and the contemporary creativity of the Connecticut River Valley and beyond.
This year’s festival will be held remotely; the schedule is now live and includes headliners Ada Limón, Jericho Brown, Kimaya Diggs, Franny Choi, Shayla Lawson and, as is tradition, the Emily Dickinson Marathon. Sign up for events through the schedule page!
