In this highly interactive workshop, facilitated by Peter McLean, we will explore how our culture helps and hurts our abilities as men to access feelings, talk about emotions and seek resources to support ourselves in our journey of mental health. Participants will learn strategies to identify their feelings, explore where those feelings might be stemming from, and to identify positive pathways forward. This workshop is primarily for male identified students looking to learn how to support themselves and others in creating a healthier mental landscape on campus, in their families, and in their lives beyond Amherst College.

How much easier is it for you to praise someone else than it is to recognize how you, yourself, have done well? Our ability to love and accept ourselves FULLY allows us to love and accept those around us even more. Would you ever say the things you say about yourself to someone else? To your roommate? To your professor? To your grandma? Loving ourselves authentically and appropriately charges our batteries, fills our hearts, and makes us more capable of being our true selves and for helping those around us feel welcomed into being their true selves.
