Eboni Rafus-Brenning is excited to return to the valley after seven years in Los Angeles County, California. Eboni spent four and a half years working at Viewpoint School, a K-12 independent school in Calabasas, CA, as the Upper School Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion where she advised student clubs and organizations; produced assemblies, heritage month celebrations, and a day-long Diversity, Equity and Inclusion conference; and assisted students as part of the Student Support Team. Previously, Eboni worked in Residence Life at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA, and for the Department of Residence Education at UMass, Amherst. As the daughter of an Army veteran, Eboni moved around all her life, but considers Western Massachusetts home. She earned an MA in English Literature and an MFA in Creative Writing while working for the Women of Color Leadership Network at the Center for Women and Community and as The Graduate Student Senate’s Graduate Women’s Network Coordinator. Eboni lives in Holyoke with her wife, Brandice, son, Rhys, and two rescue dogs, Stella and Jasmine. She loves reading, writing, horseback riding and watching way too much television.
We would like to thank the incredible search committee that made the MRC director search a success! We are incredibly grateful for their time, continued dedication, and commitment to the MRC and Amherst community. We could not have facilitated the search without you. Thank you!
