The Amherst College community mourns the loss of Trey Malone of Bradenton, Fla., who passed away on Sunday, June 17.
"Trey left us far too soon, but his presence has been deeply felt at Amherst. Memories of him will endure in classrooms, along the quad's pathways, in residence halls and within the hearts and minds of those whose lives he touched," said President Biddy Martin. "A young man of great talent and spirit, he will be remembered for his quick and insightful mind, his skills and passion as an athlete, his ability to form great friendships and his charm and wonderful sense of humor. The Amherst community will greatly miss having Trey among us, and we offer our deepest sympathy to his devoted family and wide circle of friends.”

A Celebration of Life for Trey Malone was held June 25, at St. Boniface Church, in Sarasota, Fla. Lanterns in memory of Trey were illuminated at dusk on Siesta Key beach.
