Andrew Dorogi
The Amherst College community mourns the loss of Andrew Dorogi ’18, who passed away on March 16, 2018, in Mexico. Andrew came to Amherst from Cleveland, Ohio, and was an economics major and a member of the football team. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, teammates, coaches and teachers. For those seeking solace and community, the College hosted a campus-only event on the evening of March 19 for attendees to share their remembrances of Andrew. In addition, Chapin Chapel will be open for prayer and meditation, the Counseling Center will offer expanded services, and coaches, counselors and student affairs are available for those needing support, sympathy or companionship. Cards and message boards have also been positioned at several spots on campus for anyone wishing to leave thoughts, memories and condolences.

“Andrew touched the lives of so many students, faculty, coaches and staff on our campus, and his sudden death is a profound blow,” wrote President Biddy Martin in an email to the campus community. “Please look to one another for sympathy, support, understanding and strength. Please keep his family and all who loved him in your thoughts.”
