Historian Simon Schama gave a talk titled “Righteous Uproar or Deafening Silence: Remembering the Abolition of the Slave Trade in America and Britain,” at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, in the Pruyne Lecture Hall (Fayerweather 115) at Amherst College. Sponsored by the Victor S. Johnson Lectureship Fund at Amherst, Schama’s talk was free and open to the public.
