AMHERST, Mass.— Alex Ogle, flute, and Chonghyo Shin, piano, will perform music by Sergei Prokofiev, Carl Reinecke and Ludwig van Beethoven on Friday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m. in Buckley Recital Hall at Amherst College. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Alex Ogle, who teaches flute at Amherst College and at the Brattleboro Music Center, is a senior lecturer in music at Dartmouth College. He has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival, performed regularly with the New England Bach Festival and played principal flute for, among others, the Grand Teton Music Festival, the D’Oyly Carte Opera and Jesus Christ Superstar. Ogle attended Harvard College and the Juilliard School of Music, and studied with Douglas Royal, James Pappoutsakis, Julius Baker, Harold Bennett and Marcel Moyse. Ogle has recorded for MusicMasters and Opus One.

Chonghyo Shin chairs the piano department at the Brattleboro Music Center. She has given recitals and appeared as a soloist with the Boston Pops, the New England Conservatory Orchestra, the Windham Community Orchestra and the Pioneer Valley Symphony. A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, she has taught at the Conservatory, the Northfield Mount Hermon School and Keene State College.
