AMHERST, Mass.—On Friday, Feb. 11, Gwyneth Connell, a senior at Amherst College, will appear in the first round of the annual Jeopardy! College Championship. If she wins in the first round, her second-round appearance will be the week of Feb. 14-16, with the championship games on Feb. 17 and 18.

Connell was selected from more than 1,500 college students across the country to compete in the college championship. She is active at Amherst in the DQ a capella group and "Mr. Gad’s House of Improv," a comedy sketch troupe.

The college champion is guaranteed a $50,000 cash prize, a new Volvo and a Jeopardy! trophy. All contestants will receive cash prizes, and Volvo will provide scholarship funds to the schools of the top three.

Locally, Jeopardy airs at 7:30 p.m. weeknights on WWLP-TV (NBC) Channel 22.
