AMHERST, Mass.—Bay Buchanan, the sister of presidential candidate and television commentator Pat Buchanan, will speak about the failures of modern feminism and the current state of political affairs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, in the Cole Assembly Room on the first floor of Converse Hall at Amherst College. Her talk and a reception to follow are free and open to the public.
This year Angela "Bay" Buchanan is again serving as her brother’s campaign manager in his bid for the Reform Party presidential nomination, as she served for his Republican campaigns in 1992 and 1996. She is also the co-host of CNBC’s Equal Time, a political talk show, and the host of her own radio talk show.
In 1996 George magazine recognized Bay Buchanan as one of the top 20 political women in the nation. Writing in The New York Times last fall, Francis X. Clines called her "a lean and avid political operative clearly relishing the long odds as she plays chief strategist, fiery alter ego and grass-roots shepherd for her brother."
Bay Buchanan has chaired The American Cause, an education foundation that promotes limited government and traditional values. In the Reagan administration she served as treasurer of the U.S. and chair of the Commission on Women Business Owners.
