AMHERST, Mass. - Allen Guttmann, the Emily C. Jordan Folger professor of English and American Studies at Amherst College, has been awarded the first annual Sport Science Award of the IOC President, given by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Council of Sport Studies and the Physical Education (ICSSPE).

The performance, in Italian with English supertitles, is free and open to the public; early arrival is recommended.

The “Festival of Lessons and Carols” is sponsored by the Amherst College Christian Fellowship, the Newman Club and the Interfaith Support Group. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Gryphon Trio Presents Music at Amherst

The program includes piano trios by Haydn and Mendelssohn, in addition to a work that was written for the Gryphon Trio by Kelly-Marie Murphy, a contemporary composer.
