AMHERST, Mass.-Susan Snively, the associate dean of students and director of the Writing Center at Amherst College, has published a poem, "Bus Driver," in the Summer 2004 issue of Prairie Schooner. One of the leading literary journals in the United States, Prairie Schooner has published poetry, short stories and essays since 1926 at the University of Nebraska.

Snively, who has been at Amherst since 1981, is a graduate of Smith College and received M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Boston University. She is the author of three books of poems: From This Distance (1981), Voices in the House (1988) and The Undertow (1998). Her poetry and essays have appeared in many periodicals.

Snively also will publish an essay, "Good Girl," in an upcoming issue of the Tampa Review.
