AMHERST, Mass.—The Amherst College Women’s Chorus, directed by Mallorie Chernin, will present its annual spring concert on Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in Buckley Recital Hall in the Arms Music Center at Amherst College. The performance is open to the public at no charge and seating is by general admission.

The Hyde Park Neighborhood Choir—which is conducted by Amherst College alumna Mollie Stone ’01—of the Chicago Children’s Choir will open the concert. Joined by gospel singer Michelle Brooks, violinist Michiko Theurer ’11 and pianists Gretchen Saathoff and Dana Kaufman ’12, the Women’s Chorus will then sing a diverse program of tunes featuring composers Henri DuMont, Heinrich Schütz and Lana Walter; music from Bulgaria and South Africa, and a rockin’ Gospel song titled “This is the Day.”
