AMHERST, Mass.— On Thursday, March 25, at 4:30 p.m. in Pruyne Lecture Hall of Amherst College’s Fayerweather Hall, University of Texas at Austin philosophy professor Anna Sara Malmgren will present the final lecture in the 2009-2010 Forry Lecture Series on “The Philosophy and Science of Testimony.” Her talk, titled “Warrant Preservation and Testimony,” is free and open to the public. 

Malmgren primarily studies epistemology, philosophy of language and philosophy of mind. She holds bachelor’s degrees in philosophy from King’s College London and the University of Oxford and a doctorate in philosophy from New York University

Malmgren’s talk is made possible by the Forry and Micken Fund in Philosophy and Science, established in 1983 by John I. Forry ’66 and Carol Micken to promote the study of philosophical issues arising out of new developments in the sciences, including mathematics, and issues in the philosophy and history of science.
