Charge of the Advisory Committee on Personnel Policies

The purposes of the Advisory Committee on Personnel Policies (ACPP) shall be to advise the Director of Human Resources in matters pertaining to College policies which affect staff; and to actively solicit from staff their concerns about such policies, as well as about other matters which affect their work at Amherst College.

The primary goal of the ACPP shall be to foster an effective relationship between the staff of Amherst College and its administration, resulting in a work environment which not only serves the needs of the College, but also maintains a supportive and rewarding workplace for staff.

The ACPP shall consist of ten Amherst College staff members representing the ten staff work areas of the College. Representatives shall be nominated by their peers within their work areas. Following acceptance of nominations, the election of members shall be within the representative areas. All members of the committee shall normally serve a two-year term.

The organization and structure of meetings, chair selection and the selection of subcommittee members shall be determined annually by the elected members of the Committee, with the advice of the Director of Human Resources, who shall meet monthly with the ACPP.
