The Grants Office

The Grants Office (formerly Foundation and Corporate Relations) works to support the College's Advancement effort. The GO seeks major grants from national foundations and corporations in support of broad institutional programs and initiatives. Projects for which GO staff help seek support may include a curriculum development initiative, the construction or renovation of a campus building, programs serving the needs of Amherst students or faculty, or the purchase of major equipment to enhance teaching and research at the College.

The Grants Office collaborates with the Office of the Dean of the Faculty to assist faculty seeking external funds for their research.  Visit the GO web site for links to funding opportunity databases, info on the most popular grant competitions, and advice on proposal writing. With enough advance notice notice, Grants Office staff can offer informed advice on every stage of the grant proposal writing process. They can also advise on constructing project budgets and College polices on faculty proposals for external funding.
