International Students: Applying for Financial Aid
To be considered for financial aid at Amherst in 2016-2017, you must complete:
Complete the Financial Aid PROFILE form for 2016-2017 and submit it to the College Scholarship Service (CSS) of the College Board. Amherst College's CSS PROFILE code number is 3003. Registration guides and worksheets are available from secondary schools or the Office of Financial Aid. Please complete the CSS PROFILE reporting your family's financial information in the currency of your home country.
Applicants from the countries of Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, and Togo cannot pay for the CSS PROFILE to be processed using a credit card. Applicants from these countries should contact the Office of Financial Aid for a fee payment code.
Applicants from the countries of Cuba and Iran cannot use the CSS PROFILE. Applicants from these countries should complete the International Student Financial Aid Application
If your parents are separated or divorced, the PROFILE form should be completed by you and the parent with whom you live (i.e., your "custodial" parent). Your other parent (i.e., your "non-custodial" parent) must complete the CSS Non-Custodial Parent PROFILE.
If any parent owns an interest in a business or a farm, s/he must complete the International Student Business/Farm Supplement. The completed Business/Farm Supplement should be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid at Amherst College directly.
Submit copies of your and your parents' most recent income tax return(s) and/or other documentation of income directly to the Office of Financial Aid. Documentation can be sent to the office: by e-mail to email@example.com; by fax to 413 542 2628; or by standard mail to PO Box 5000, Amherst, MA 01002 USA. All documentation must be translated into English.
Candidates for Transfer to Amherst
Transfer applicants already studying in the United States who demonstrate financial need are eligible for financial aid at Amherst. To be eligible for financial aid in 2015-2016, a transfer candidate must follow the same instructions as above.
