Financial Aid Peer Ambassadors will support services within the Office of Financial Aid, and work with other students to help guide them through the financial aid process. Peer Ambassadors will also engage in outreach activities to educate the campus community about pending deadlines and other financial aid related matters.
What are some duties of a Financial Aid Peer Ambassador?
- Peer Ambassadors will play a critical role in sharing information about policies, resources, and the services available in the Office of Financial Aid to increase student awareness and involvement.
Peer Ambassadors will provide one-on-one assistance for both walk-in and scheduled appointments. Ambassadors will assist students in the completion of forms or files, advise students on financial aid requirements and policies, and will make referrals to other Office of Financial deans and staff as appropriate.
- Peer Ambassadors will assist the Office of Financial Aid in developing, monitoring & creating content for our social media platforms.
Will training be offered?
- Peer Ambassadors will learn how to interpret a financial aid award, learn federal, state and university aid rules, how to apply for financial aid, how to use our software system, basic aid processing, counseling, customer service, and more.
- Peer Ambassadors will receive ongoing training and support — all peer ambassadors, must be willing to arrive on campus for paid training the week prior to the start of the fall semester—August 27 through August 31st.
