Lisa Stoffer coordinates Amherst 's efforts to obtain funding from institutional donors. She works with faculty and administrators to find corporate and foundation support for college priorities and collaborative projects with other colleges, universities, and community organizations. She also supports faculty in the humanities and arts who seek external support for their research or curricular projects.
Lisa joined the Advancement Office in February 2007 from Hampshire College, where she directed the office of Corporate, Foundation, and Government Relations. She has also worked in international education, as a senior development officer for the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX), and as the manager of study abroad programs in Russia and Ukraine for the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR)/American Councils for International Education. She is a graduate of Haverford College and received an M.A. in Russian and East European Studies from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
Jeanne E. Weintraub

Jeanne Weintraub works to secure external funding for Amherst, especially for institutional priorities in STEM (science, technology and mathematics). She supports faculty grantseeking with a focus on the sciences, mathematics, and the social sciences. Jeanne helps faculty in those and related disciplines identify likely funding sources and grant programs, and assists with proposal development, reporting, and the internal approval process.
Prior to joining the Grants Office team in 2002, Jeanne researched and analyzed data for a variety of organizations, including the Channing Bete Publishing Company and the Massachusetts Governor’s Highway Safety Board. As a business consultant, Jeanne provided marketing, database management, and web development services to local non-profit organizations and small businesses. A native of Pennsylvania, Jeanne is a graduate of Cook College, Rutgers University, and holds a B.S. degree in environmental studies.
Mary Elizabeth Strunk

Mary Elizabeth Strunk joined the Grants Office in 2014. She researches grant opportunities, oversees some external office communications, and supports faculty, especially those who seek external funding in political science, film and media studies, and theater and dance.
Mary is a graduate of Georgetown University who also holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Minnesota. For many years, she taught interdisciplinary courses in English, American studies, and women and gender studies at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Syracuse University, and Hamline University, among others. Mary has been the public relations and publications manager at the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum, a research associate at the Five College Women’s Studies Center, and a freelance writer and editor. Before coming to the Grants Office, she was the communications leader for Mediate Your Life, a company that provides training in conflict resolution and mediation.
