Have you begun using your free money?
Active employees enrolled in one of the College’s health insurance plans effective July 1, 2010, received a one-time College contribution for the Amherst Plan Medical Spending Account administered by Crosby Benefits: $385 for those enrolled in family coverage; $175 for those enrolled in individual coverage. These amounts were prorated for employees working less than a full-time schedule. There was no requirement for an employee contribution in order to receive the College’s contribution.
Don’t let your money go to waste! You can use the funds to pay for eligible medical and dental expenses not covered by the College’s plans, whether for you or your eligible dependents. You even get a debit card, so you don’t have to pay out-of-pocket.
To view your account with Crosby Benefits, go to www.mycrosbybenefits.com. (If this is your first visit to the site, click on the “New User?” button to register; use the ID number on your Amherst College ID card for the employee ID number).
If not used by September 15, 2011, the money is forfeited. Contact the Office of Human Resources if you have any questions, or visit this HR page and read about the details under the section entitled “Flexible Spending Plan (The Amherst Plan).”
