The towns surrounding the Amherst College campus provide access to a number of day care centers and nursery schools for pre-school children. Since childcare needs vary greatly depending on the ages of children and your specific circumstances, you need to research these opportunities fully. The Woodside Children’s Center, 413-253-2604, operates on campus and provides preferential admission to the children of Amherst College employees.

Each of the other colleges in the Five College alliance has affiliated daycare facilities. In each instance, preferential admission is provided to children of the parent’s respective college. However, openings may be available to children of parents employed by the other participating colleges on a priority higher than the general public.
