Benefit Changes for Your New Addition

Although welcoming a new addition to your family is exciting, it is important that you review the following benefits and make any changes necessary. If you do not make your changes within the 30 day window of eligibility, you will not be able to make changes to your coverage until the next open enrollment period.

Benefits Time Period Changes you can make

Health and Dental Insurance

Within 30 days of the birth, adoption or marriage
  • Add the new dependent
  • Add spouse or previously eligible dependants

Group Term Life Insurance

Within 30 days of the birth, adoption or marriage
  • Go up one step in supplemental coverage (ie. Basic to 1x, 1x to 2x) without providing evidence of eligibility
  • Add spouse and/or child coverage

Medical FSA

Within 30 days of the birth, adoption or marriage
  • Add a Medical FSA
  • Increase or decrease an existing Medical FSA
  • Changes must be consistent with status change

Dependent Care FSA

Within 30 days of the birth, adoption or marriage
  • Add a Dependent Care FSA
  • Increase or decrease an existing Dependent Care FSA
  • Changes must be consistent with status change
