Workplace Fundamentals is a collection of professional development trainings and classes intended for staff and faculty at Amherst College. The focus of these trainings is to build and enhance skills. We are starting to plan for the next English Competency Course, a multi-week class designed to help participants with their speaking, listening and writing skills. We want to remind supervisors and staff that this class will be available again starting in September. Anyone interested in participating in this program should contact Stephen Butler at extension 2521 / email@example.com.
IT Trainings and LinkedIn Learning
The IT Department offers trainings throughout the year for staff and faculty. For an updated list of IT trainings and to register online, please check the IT Training and Events Calendar. The first week of August includes trainings on Two-Factor Authentication at Amherst College.
All staff and faculty have access to LinkedIn Learning, an online resource for training with thousands of courses on technical and professional skills led by content matter experts. LinkedIn Learning courses can provide both basic instruction to learn about a new topic or skill, and detailed instruction to master a specific skill or task. The college can provide an individual license to any employee who would like to use LinkedIn Learning for professional development. If you would like to request a license, submit a request to IT.
