Head, Neck and Shoulders

Finding time to move, stretch and even simply pay attention to your body while at work can be a huge challenge. Chronic discomfort and pain have become commonplace complaints for those of us who work more sedentary jobs. Even if our work involves movement, it is often repetitive and can lead to other physical challenges.

In this recurring series, Feel Better At Work, you'll learn simple yet effective techniques to weave into your workday to respond to both physical discomfort and stress. This session will focus on the Head, Neck and Shoulders.

After this workshop you'll:
  • Be able to respond to physical discomfort with both mindful awareness and tangible movement skills to help you feel better in the moment
  • Understand more about your body's biomechanical movement needs, including joint rotation and common misalignments
  • Understand the basics of how the nervous system works in order to better respond to stress and how it manifests in the physical body
This workshop is open to all staff and faculty and will be tailored to the needs of those who attend. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in.
