Employee Referral Bonus for Dining Services and Community Safety Assistant Job Referrals

  • Given today's challenging labor market—in the food and hospitality sectors in particular—and small pool of job seekers in general, the College has created a referral bonus program for any Amherst staff member who helps Dining Services recruit new talent.
  • This bonus program will also apply to the newly-created Community Safety Assistant (CSA) jobs, since these positions will serve a crucial function in the College's safety plans for the coming year.
  • Employees will receive a $1,000 award for referring a prospective staff member for an advertised, open vacancy in a casual, full- or part-time Dining Services or CSA position. The bonus will be subject to applicable payroll tax withholdings.
  • The referral bonus will be paid out once the new staff member completes one month of service.

Important Announcements

COVID-19 Vaccine Exemption

The College is requiring that all staff and faculty be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. It is our hope that these vaccination requirements for all colleagues will provide additional protection for everyone in our community. The College will also require that all community members who are eligible receive a booster no later than Feb. 1, 2022. Those who are not eligible for a booster by that date will be required to receive it as soon as they are eligible.

BCBSMA COVID-19 Test Coverage

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is covering the costs of FDA-authorized, rapid, at-home COVID tests for members for the duration of the federal public health emergency, in accordance with the Biden Administration’s new guidance, effective January 15, 2022.

2021 W-2 Now Available

The 2021 W-2 tax forms have been loaded in Workday and are now available electronically. Paper copies will be mailed to employees who did not opt-out of the printed election.

W-2 forms can be found in Workday by entering My Tax Documents in the search bar or by opening the Pay application and clicking on the My Tax Documents option under the View column.

COVID-19 Quarantine and Isolation Policy

Any staff member who tests positive for COVID-19 or has to quarantine due to close contact will receive their regular pay based on their current work schedules for the duration of the isolation or quarantine period.
