Trainer: Mannie White (Pioneer Training)

This workshop will be conducted virtually via Zoom. Zoom details will be shared with those who have registered close to the date of the workshop. You may participate with any computer or device. The instructor will use a Windows computer and speak to the differences across platforms as possible.

This same training workshop will be offered twice, April 13 and May 5. You must register using the link included below and select your preferred date to attend.

The class is an introduction to some of the Google Apps enabled for college use, specifically Docs, Sheets and Forms, and Google Drive, the online storage location for Google Apps. In this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to set up a local Google Drive folder, which automatically synchronizes with Google Drive on the Web. You’ll learn to create new documents in the Google Docs format, as well as how to work with Word documents in Google Docs. You'll learn basic editing and formatting techniques in both Docs and Sheets, and also how to work with Excel files in Sheets. Finally, you'll learn to create a new form in Google Forms that automatically tabulates form data in a Google Sheet. Since the Google Apps are collaboration tools, the class will also cover sharing files and real time co-authoring. You’ll learn the difference between viewing and editing, and how to set permission levels for collaborators.
