Adding a banner image or choosing a different format for your Moodle site is an easy way to create a sense of teaching presence and connect your Moodle site more closely to the class topic. It also helps to differentiate the Moodle site for your course from the other courses that students may use that semester.

In the first year seminar War and Peace, taught in Fall 2019, Professor Wolfson  added images representing the theme and topic of his courses. This helped set a tone for the semester and got students excited about the class.

In order to communicate information with clarity, he also used the Collapsed Topics course format which has a customizable layout and color scheme.
