How to backup Amherst emails to Gmail.

Instructions: 
  1. Create an account for your Amherst email in an email client such as Outlook for Windows or Mac, Mail for Mac, or Thunderbird.
  2. Create an account for your Gmail account in the same email client using IMAP account settings.
  3. Drag and drop the messages you would like to back up from your Amherst account into your Gmail inbox. It is best to back up a only couple hundred emails at a time to avoid time-outs and other connection issues.
