How to log in and use online software and technology training videos on lynda.com. With Amherst’s campus subscription to lynda.com, students and employees (staff and faculty) can access more than 1,400 training videos that provide software and computer skills instruction. New courses are added every week.
- Click the icon or link above, log in with your Amherst credentials.
Go to lynda.com and click log in in the upper right corner. In the domain/institution login box enter www.amherst.edu then click go. Then log in with your Amherst credentials.
Get the free lynda.com app for your iOS or Android mobile device. On the log in screen tap Web Portal Access then enter amherst.edu and tap go. Log in using your Amherst credentials. If you are already logged into the Amherst website and click our lynda.com portal link, you may get logged into lynda automatically. You can tell if you are logged in if you see a greeting with your name (e.g., Hi, Yourfirstname) in the top center of the lynda.com home page in your browser.
- Search for topics you're interested in such as Moodle, iPad tips, editing photos, how to use Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Mac OS X Lion, etc.
- Watch one, some or all the video segments for a particular topic you choose. Follow along with the provided exercises, as applicable.
- When you're finished, click log out in the top right corner of any lynda.com page or if using the lynda.com app, tap the gear symbol in the upper left corner and then tap log out.
