Set Up Amherst IT Remote Support Session

Introduction

How to set up and use the Amherst IT Remote Support software when asked to do so by a staff member of the IT Help Desk.

Instructions: 
  1. If asked to do so by a member of the IT Help Desk, click the link below that corresponds to your operating system to download our Amherst IT Remote Support software.

  2. Once you download the software, save it to your computer.
  3. Open the software.
  4. An information page will open that details what the software does and warns you that the other person will be able to see your computer screen. If that is OK with you you must click Accept, OK or Yes as applicable to allow the other person one-time access to your computer.
  5. The Remote Support software will generate an ID number and one-time use password. Provide the IT Help Desk staff member with the 9-digit ID number then the 4-digit password. The 4-digit password will be good for the current session only and will no longer work once the session is closed by either you or the IT Help Desk staff member.
