Introduction

The college does not provide antivirus/antimalware software for personally-owned computers.

The college used to license ESET for such purposes, but that license expires on June 18, 2020. If you have a copy of ESET installed on your personally-owned computer that was covered by the old license, ESET will continue to work after June 18, 2020 but it will no longer update its virus definitions. To continue to use ESET with updates on your personally-owned computer, you may purchase a license directly from ESET for $39.99 per year for macOS or Windows. This message does not apply to computers Amherst College owns and provides, as we will continue to provide the antivirus software Crowdstrike on college-owned computers.
