The College has contracted with Infoshred, LLC for shredding services to address needs exceeding those which can be satisfied by using a personal shredder.  Infoshred is a Charter Member of the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID).  Please see the College’s Information Security Policy for details on employee responsibilities pertaining to data security.

Any department that needs a shredding container should contact the Facilities Department Service Center (Paul Thornton) at extension 5038.  Documents should be placed into the shredding containers by appropriate College employees.  No sensitive data should ever be left on or around the container for any reason.  If any document cannot be placed into the container because it is full or for any other reason, the document should be placed into another secure container on campus or stored in a secure location on campus until other arrangements are made.  Please contact the Service Center at the same extension above to report a container that is full or to request a larger bin to handle a large volume of documents.

The above procedures are for paper documents.   If you need to destroy CDs, disks or other material containing sensitive data, please contact the IT Help Desk at extension 2526.

If you witness anyone tampering with a shredding container, notice a container whose security has been compromised, or become aware of any other issue relating to the security of documents located in one or more of these containers, please contact Campus Police at extension 2291.
