For the second time in a month, some off-campus users are unable to connect to their Amherst email using Thunderbird. A common factor is that these people are Comcast customers--though not all Comcast customers are having problems. Members of ITSS and SNG are working the problem.

In the meantime we recommend Thunderbird users who can't connect from off-campus use OWA, the College's web interface to email.

UPDATE: February 27. 

A team consisting of members of ITSS and SNG is working this problem and will report progress to the affected people.
