Services Login for Guests and Visitors to the College

Guest Login

In public computing labs such as Seeley Mudd and Frost Library A Level, guest login instructions are found on the computer monitors.

Guest lecturers and other visitors often require greater permissions on College computers, especially in projection classrooms, than is provided by the ACGuest account found on all public computers. To accommodate such visitors, the IT department maintains a single account that provides the necessary permissions on all College computers.

Visitor account username: VISIT

The password for this account is set every day at 2:00 AM and is good for 24 hours. The password is common to all people using the account on any particular day.

Any Amherst faculty or staff member can retrieve the VISIT account password for the current day by following the link below. They can then share the password with the visitor.

Note that although we put the VISIT account name in all caps, the name is not case-sensitive; visit will work just as well.
