OASMC - Campus Print and Mail

Sending Files To OAS

How to submit print jobs.

You can submit your print job to OAS by email OASMC@AMHERST.EDU. Large files can be uploaded to our DropBox site - email us for instructions, or you can always bring it in on CD/DVD/Flash drive.  As a last resort, If you don't have a digital file, you can also bring us a hard copy, but the quality is usually much better with a digital file.

All jobs submitted to OAS must have a Work Order in order to be printed!

Please save your document as a high resolution PDF (Portable Document Format). This ensures that any artwork or fonts you use are "locked in" and won't change when output. How to create a PDF file depends on the program you are creating the document in. Here are instructions for the programs we recommend.

Filesender

FileSender is a service that lets you share large files with others in a secure way, whether at Amherst or outside of Amherst. FileSender is a secure, password-protected service and is OK to use for sensitive documents.

Instructions

  1. Go to https://filesender.amherst.edu/
  2. Click the button Logon, and sign in with your Amherst credentials.
  3. Click the button Browse and navigate to the location of the file that you want to send.
  4. Once you have located the file, click Open.
  5. Enter the email address(es) for those whom you wish to send the file.
  6. Add a subject and message.
  7. Note and if necessary change the expiry date to download.
  8. Click the button Send.

FileSender will send an e-mail to the addresses you enter that contains a link which give the recipients access to the file. The file itself does not get e-mailed.

FileSender can also send an e-mail to a colleague that contains a link where they can upload a file for you:

  1. Go to https://filesender.amherst.edu/
  2. Click the button Logon, and sign in with your Amherst credentials.
  3. Click on the button Guest Voucher.
  4. Enter the e-mail address(es) you wish to send the file to.
  5. Note and if necessary change the expiry date to download.
  6. Click the button Send Voucher.

Once your colleague uploads the file, you will receive a notification with a link to download the file.

Other Programs:

If you are using another program that doesn't allow you to save PDFs directly from the program, you can use a variety of free PDF converters (some better than others.) One we've tried is Bullzip PDF writer. You can download and install it from...
http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php

Once installed, you basically print to a PDF, save it to your computer and then email it to us.
