Bystander Intervention

Bystander Intervention is one tool that students can use to interrupt behaviors that target individuals or groups of students with violence or verbal abuse. During these interactive workshops led by the Peer Advocates for Sexual Respect students will learn skills for becoming an active bystander and helping to create a safer campus community. Utilizing the 4 Ds (Distract, Direct, Delegate and Delay) students will practice intervention and build their own skill and confidence. All students will be emailed with specific details about which of the sessions to attend in the first three weeks of the semester. Make up sessions will be offered.
