About the Campus Directory
The Amherst College Online Directory provides current Amherst students, faculty and staff with Web access to most of the information listed in the college's printed phone directory, plus photos of all who choose to make their ID photos available.
The Course Search feature allows current students and faculty to see who is in their classes.
Print a "facebook" of your class or department by performing a search, then, at the top of the results page, clicking "Show search results as a printable facebook."
The directory is accessible via Internet Explorer, Netscape 7.1 and Safari.
All photos are shown by default; if you wish to deactivate your photo, log in and change your Preferences. Students' deactivated photos will remain visible to faculty who have logged in for a Course Search, but won't be visible to anyone else. Note that your own photo will be visible in your Preferences, to you only, even after deactivating it.
Alumni and the general public may view essential contact information of students, faculty and staff, but not photos or dorm or office locations (see the chart below for details). E-mail addresses in the directory are protected from the programs that spammers use to collect addresses.
