The QCenter Math Staff

The QCenter's Math Staff are here to help you prepare for the Math Comprehensive Exam and the Honors Qualifying Exam. We are available for individual and group appointments, will host drop-in study sessions, will answer questions posted on Slack, and can help with study plans and practice exams. Please see below for more information on each of these.

Slack

We have created a workspace in Slack for students taking the Math Comprehensive Exam or Honors Qualifying Exam. Here you will be able to ask questions, organize study groups, or just chat with other students taking Comps. The QCenter Math staff will check in periodically to answer questions posted in these channels. You will also be able to create your own channels on this workspace.

Click here to join the Math Comps 2024 Slack Workspace. You will need to use an @amherst email address to join. Contact qcentermath@amherst.edu if you need assistance.

Study Plans

At the links below, you can find suggested study plans to help you plan out what you will work on each day. These plans are designed for studying during the three weeks before Spring classes begin. Think about what would work best for you and then make your own plan. Remember to think about how you will hold yourself accountable for sticking to it!
