Dennis James Sweeney is the author of In the Antarctic Circle, winner of the 2020 Autumn House Rising Writer Prize, as well as four chapbooks of poetry and prose. His fiction, nonfiction and poetry have appeared in Five Points, Ninth Letter, The New York Times, The Southern Review, and Witness, among others. He is a small press editor of Entropy and poetry editor for Astrophil Press, as well as a former assistant editor of Denver Quarterly. He has received residencies from Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, I-Park and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. A recipient of a Fulbright fellowship to Malta, he has a master’s degree from Oregon State University and a doctorate from the University of Denver.
