A native speaker of Russian, Evgeny Dengub holds a Ph.D from Bryn Mawr College in Second Language Acquisition in Russian.
He is the co-author of two Russian language textbooks: Russian for Advanced Students (Dunwoody Press, 2013) and Panorama: Intermediate Russian Language and Culture (Georgetown University Press, forthcoming) as well as the language learning supplement to Russian Life Magazine.
Dr. Dengub has authored and led a variety of workshops and trainings for teachers both in Russia and the United States and has supervised the work of teaching assistants at Amherst College. In the summer time he directs a STARTALK Institute for Teachers of Russian at Middlebury College Russian School where he worked as a Lead Instructor and a testing coordinator for a number of years.
He is the co-founder of the award-winning Online Resource Center for Teachers of Russian TeachRussian.org which at the moment includes more than a hundred published activities, lesson plans, tests etc. for Russian teachers across the globe.
As an active OPI, OPIc and WPT tester and rater, Dr. Dengub possesses thorough knowledge of ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, the Oral proficiency test protocol and proficiency-based instruction.
Evgeny Dengub is a member of the Board of Directors of ACTR (American Councils of Teachers of Russian).
