Biography

A native of Voronezh, Russia, pianist Felix Margolin holds degrees from Voronezh College of Music (cum
laude), Voronezh Institute of Arts (Artistic Diploma), and Voronezh State University (M of Linguistics). In
Russia, he held tenured faculty position teaching piano at Voronezh College of Music, and performed
throughout Russia and Ukraine.

Upon moving to the United States in 1991, Felix acquired another M.M. degree from UMass Amherst,
and has performed mostly solo recitals in several U.S. states, including two appearances at the Lincoln
Center in NYC, and in England, Ireland, and Germany. He has worked as Music Director and Organist in 5
churches, and has taught piano in schools throughout New England (Deerfield Academy, Keen State
College (NH), Smith College) as well as privately. He first taught piano at Amherst College between 2002
and 2006, and returned in 2015.

Felix is a dedicated teacher who is willing to help students of all levels. Many of his students have won
awards at various piano competitions, and have continued to pursue music careers. While his favorite
composer is Chopin, his musical interests range from jazz to the great American songwriters. He is also
an avid pilot.
