Teaching Interests

My teaching interests arise from the core of my teaching philosophy – speak with every student every class. In order to implement this goal, I frequently experiment with different active learning techniques, including guided-inquiry activities and tutorials, flipped classrooms, and cooperative group activities. My classes emphasize skills that are transferable for students beyond their physics courses. In the classroom, students learn specific frameworks for how to solve problems, while being provided with the opportunity to improve their interpersonal skills. Due to the prominence of data in our society, my lab courses focus on the understanding of how data is gathered, what is the meaning of measurement uncertainty, how to interpret your data, and how to communicate your results with a larger audience.
