I am a Professor at the Dept. of Applied Physics, KTH-Royal Institute of Technology, but currently a STINT Fellow at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Amherst College (fall 2017). My research group is working with ultrasound applied to lab-on-a-chip devices, a research field termed "Acoustofluidics". We are interested in using ultrasound for manipulation of particles and biological cells (acoustophoresis / acoustic trapping), and fluids (acoustic streaming). The most important application is 3D cell culture and micro-tissue and micro-tumor engineering.

Teaching at Amherst College: I teach the course "Physics and Biology of Ultrasound" during the fall 2017.

Teaching at KTH, Stockholm, Sweden: I am Program Director of the five-year Degree Programme in Engineering Physics (CTFYS).  I am track guide for the track Biomedical Physics, Master's Programme in Engineering Physics. I teach Ultrasound Physics and Applications in this track, and I also teach Classical Physics for the Degree Programme in Medical Engineering at KTH.

I have a M.Sc. from LTH-Lund Institute of Technology, Lund, Sweden (Engineering Physics, 1999; Profile: Biomedical Optics), and a Ph.D. from KTH-Royal Institute of Technology (Physics, 2004; Profile: Ultrasound-enhanced immunosassays). I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Berlin, Germany (2004-2005; Profile: Dielectrophoresis for cell handling). Since 2006 I am part of the faculty at the Dept. of Applied Physics, KTH: Assistant Professor (2006), Associate Professor (2011) and full Professor (2016).
