I teach all of our second-year language courses (French 205-208) as needed by the department and advanced-level literature and culture courses and seminars in French that cover various aspects of the medieval and Renaissance periods (French 320-329). These courses use primarily the romance genre, but also the tradition of French lyric poetry, as a portal through which to study medieval and Renaissance culture more generally. I have taught survey courses in English translation of French classics from the years 1100-1575 and "Readings in the European Tradition II" for the European Studies program, as well as a course on Dante. I developed an interdisciplinary first-year seminar on "The Implications of Origins," which I have offered when departmental staffing allows me to do so.
