Teaching

I teach a wide variety of classes that focus on the vibrant culture of the Spanish-speaking world. My courses are grounded in cultural studies, incorporating literature, film, artwork, graphic novels, maps and digital media. I always take an interdisciplinary approach, weaving together literary and film studies with history, politics, language and geography. My specialty is 20th and 21st Century Spain, though I reflect Spain's interconnections to the rest of Europe, Latin America, North American, Africa and Asia in my teaching.

I am a hispánofila at heart: I pour my love of the Spanish language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world into every class.
