Amherst College’s Class of 2009 and 188th Commencement, By the Numbers

AMHERST, Mass. — On Sunday, May 24, Amherst College will celebrate its 188th commencement at 10 a.m. on the school’s Main Quadrangle. The exercises will feature addresses from college president Anthony W. Marx and senior Marshall Nannes, as well as the awarding of bachelor of arts degrees to 419 graduates and honorary degrees to eight distinguished guests.

Frank Stevenson II ’77 To Receive Medal for Service at Amherst College’s Commencement May 24

AMHERST, Mass. – Frank E. Stevenson II, a member of Amherst College’s Class of 1977, will receive the school’s Medal for Eminent Service during its commencement exercises Sunday, May 24. The award is presented to a member of the Amherst community who has demonstrated extraordinary devotion to the college.

AMHERST, Mass, May 28.—Under warm blue skies, Amherst College celebrated its 186th Commencement Exercises today. The college granted bachelor of arts degrees to 409 members of the Class of 2007 at Commencement Exercises at 10 a.m. in the Main Quadrangle.

From a fund established by Addison Brown of the Class of 1852, the scholarship is awarded to that senior who, being already on the scholarship list, shall have attained the highest standing in the studies of the first-year, sophomore and junior years.

Senior Assembly is Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Graduating seniors should gather—in caps and gowns—no later than 4:35 p.m. on the Quad side of Johnson Chapel. If it's raining, the line will form indoors—but bring an umbrella just in case; remember, gowns sometimes bleed when they get wet.
