Hello World!

Hello world! Pardon my tardiness. These past two weeks have been quite a blur; sometimes I don’t know why I take on so many things to do. Nonetheless, it’s been a pretty rewarding two weeks. Next week, I’ll be away from school because I will be working the National High School Model United Nations conference in New York City, so I’ve been pretty busy this week trying to get the things in order before I have to leave. I’m a little scared for my impending doom—of homework—when I get back, which was a struggle last year after I staffed the same conference.

The Fearless Underdog

Interview by Brianda Reyes ’14

While I do not remember the first time I met Tania Dias ’13, I vividly recall the first time she impressed me. At the beginning of the 2012–13 school year, Charri Boykin-East, then the interim dean of students, scheduled weekly meetings with Dias and me. The dean believed that meeting with the president of the student body and the editor-in-chief of The Amherst Student would be a good way to keep up with student affairs and concerns.

Office of the AAS Treasurer and Budgetary Committee

What Do We Do?

Each semester, the AAS receives money from the College to fund the day-to-day operations and activities of the student body. It is up to the Budgetary Committee (BC) to make recommendations for budgetary allocations to the Senate, while the Treasurer's Office Staff executes these payments on behalf of the AAS in a timely manner.
