Want to enjoy a delicious meal with other Amherst students on Thanksgiving day?

The Association of Amherst Students and the Dean of Students Office are pleased to invite all students who are on campus for Thanksgiving day to share a catered meal from the Black Sheep.  The menu is as follows: roasted turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and pies (pumpkin, blueberry, and apple) a la mode.  This meal will be served in Lewis-Sebring (the faculty/staff dining commons in Valentine) from approximately 4:00-6:00pm on November 24.

The deadline to register is Wednesday, November 16 at 4:00pm.  Please note that we have to have a firm head count for catering purposes.  We appreciate your cooperation.

Thanksgiving Break Meal Application 2012

If you are a recipient of grant aid from the college, and you plan to remain on campus during Thanksgiving break, you may be eligible to receive lunch and dinner each day through the Thanksgiving Festivities program sponsored by the Dean of Students Office.  This service is offered to a limited number of students, and priority is given to those with the highest financial need.  Please note that students who are not on the meal plan are not eligible for these meals.  If you would like to apply for this program, fill out this web form by Friday, October 26.  You will be notified by November 2 whether or not you are eligible for these meals.

Meals during Winter Recess

December 23: Valentine will close after lunch on Saturday. Dorm access closes at 5PM, unless you have followed the appropriate steps with Residental Life.

December 23 - January 1: Valentine will be closed to allow for cleaning and staff break.

Meals during Thanksgiving Break

Dining Services will be open to all students during limited hours from Saturday (11/21) to Saturday (11/28).  The details are as follows:

  • Hospitality Table during dinner
  • Lunch from 12:00 – 1:30pm in Valentine
  • Dinner from 5:00 – 6:30pm in Valentine

There are 3 exceptions to the schedule above.
