The security and the secure management of sensitive College data are important to Amherst College. In this area of the College web site, members of the College with a responsibility for the security of data have developed approaches and common understandings as well as kept track of legal and industry standards.

Decisions concerning technology and its uses affect most everyone on campus. The following are some of the groups created to provide direction to the College's technology initiatives.

CORE Team: Provides input to Administrative Information Services regarding the College's Ellucian Colleague administrative database system.

Faculty Computing Committee: Provides input and direction to IT in general and ATS in particular concerning the uses of technology in education and research.
